AMARE Hotel
This is a review of the Jongro Amare Hotel, which I recommend when traveling to Seoul, South Korea. It is an affordable hotel with a good location, clean rooms, and free breakfast, making it a popular choice for both business trips and vacations. Here are some key points of my experience:
- It is located in Jongro, close to Insadong, the center of Seoul, and Jongro 3-ga subway station is also very close.
- Room rates range from 50,000 to 100,000 KRW per night.
- Even the Standard Room is spacious enough for two people, but if you want a bathtub, I recommend the Deluxe Room.
- Breakfast is provided for free.
- The PCs in the rooms are of good quality, making them useful for searching for information or playing games.
Location
The Amare Hotel is located in the middle of Jongro 3-ga Station, and can be reached within a 10-minute walk from any exit. The closest exit is Jongro 3-ga Exit 5, which is 143m away from the hotel. There is a front entrance and a back entrance to the hotel, making it convenient to go out for meals.
Hotel Overview
Check-in was available at the reception as soon as we entered the hotel. Amenities such as toothpaste and toothbrushes cost an additional 1,000 krw. Breakfast was available on the first floor, and the rooftop was accessible from the 10th floor.
Standard Room
I stayed in both the Standard and Deluxe rooms, and both were large enough for two people to stay comfortably. The Standard Room was priced very reasonably, and had a double bed, a sofa, and a small table.
There was a PC next to the bed, which was useful for playing games or doing work, as the internet speed was fast. The TV was also large, so it was great to bring a device like Chromecast and watch a movie. The room had an air purifier, a shower robe, a coffee machine, a kettle, and two bottles of water in the refrigerator.
The bathroom had a sink, a shower, and a toilet on either side, and the mirror had lighting, making it easy and comfortable to apply makeup.
Deluxe Room
The Deluxe Room was slightly larger than the Standard Room, and had two PCs in the couple's PC room so that each person could use one. The best feature of the Deluxe Room was the small bathtub in the bathroom, which was perfect for taking a relaxing bath.
Both rooms were satisfactory for the price, but the Deluxe Room tended to sell out more quickly, so I recommend making a reservation in advance.
Rooftop
The small garden on the rooftop is available from 11 am to 11 pm. You can take the elevator to the 10th floor and climb the stairs to the rooftop to enjoy the view of Jongro.
There is a small garden on the rooftop, and you can see the large and colorful buildings of Jongro. It is not very high compared to the surrounding buildings, but it is a peaceful and quiet place to enjoy the night view of the city. I highly recommend visiting the rooftop at least once.
Breakfast
The hotel serves breakfast from 7:30 to 10:00 AM, Monday through Saturday, and is closed on Sundays. When you come down to the 1st floor where the reception desk is located, there is an entrance to the underground restaurant. The restaurant can accommodate about 10 to 20 people, and I also saw many foreigners there.
Although the menu is not extensive, you can still enjoy a satisfying meal with fried eggs cooked to order, salad, bread, sausage, and simple fruit. The salad dressing, which includes oriental, balsamic, and Caesar, is delicious. You can toast the bread and morning bread yourself, and butter, strawberry jam, and ketchup are also provided.
You can pour your own juice and milk, and there is a coffee machine, so you can enjoy a cup of coffee as well. This was a review of a stay at the Amare Hotel, where you can stay at a reasonable price and enjoy a clean and comfortable atmosphere, as well as a hearty breakfast. It is a great place to stay in Seoul if you are on a budget or have plans in the area.
